A shirt cost 97cedis or in your country's currency, but you have no money on you, so you borrowed 50cedis from youR mum and 50cedis from your dad, making 100 cedis.
After buying the shirt for 97cedis, you had 3cedis left. You returned 1cedi  to your mum, 1 cedi to your dad and kept the rest 1 cedi for yourself. Now, you owe your mum 49 cedis and your dad 49 cedis.
49 + 49 = 98 plus the 1 cedi you left for yourself, making 99 cedis.
Where is the missing one cedi?
